⚠️ First of all, I’d like to make it clear that I haven’t received a single penny for writing this post. In other words, this is a 100% sincere and honest recommendation, based on my personal experience. With that clarified, let’s begin.
I am an introverted person and I don’t have many social skills. Despite this, I like meeting people. Of course, it’s not easy for me. That’s why I’ve tried many apps to make friends (yes, friends, not dates).
I’ve experimented with language exchange apps, others focused on specific hobbies, and some for making international friends. But finding someone to really connect with was difficult.
Then, I found Slowly.
Slowly is completely different from any other app I’ve used. Here, it’s all about sending virtual letters. This is how it works:
The app automatically matches you with people who share your interests.
You write a letter, and you can write as much as you want.
Then, you wait for the letter to be sent. This depends on the distance; it can take from 35 minutes to over a day.
When the person replies, their letter arrives, and you wait again.
And voilà, you have a pen pal.
At first, the waiting felt very long because we’re used to immediate responses. But after a few days, I started enjoying the wait and the time it took to write my letters.
What I like most about Slowly is the people.
Most of the people I’ve talked to are introverted, with many interests, open-minded, and from different parts of the world. Without a doubt, it’s one of my favourite apps.
So, if you also like meeting people but don’t have many social skills, or if you have varied interests, you’re sure to find really interesting people on Slowly.
